Default Can a parent keep their child's earnings?
I need help. My friend lives in Alberta, Canada. Recently he had worked for money at a fast food restaraunt. He recieved the money by hand and got home. His father\guardian had taken the money and had threatened him by almost punching my friend for the money. Is this against the law? Can my friend sue his father?

Default Child's Wages
Under common law, a minor's wages are considered to be the property of the parent. I do not know if Canada has modified that rule. Your friend may wish to consult a local lawyer.
