Egress / Ingress Easement Language

Could someone clarify what the following statement actually means:

"Together also with all rights and interests of Grantor in easements providing access to the above property from any secondary road and egress from said property to any secondary road, as grantors, and their predecessors may have aquired by prior conveyance or usage"

Would this statement allow the grantee to use the easement for any purpose with any type of vehicle that he wishes?

A: This means that the Grantee has no greater and no lesser rights than his predecessors in title (i.e., the people who owned it before).



Q: Would this statement allow the grantee to use the easement for any purpose with any type of vehicle that he wishes?

A: No. The easement could be used only for the ordinary and regular purposes that it had been used for in the past. If, for example, it had been used as a log road, then just about any vehicle could go over it. On the other hand, if it had been used just for passenger traffic, then just cars and other light vehicles could go over.

No vehicle that screws up the road would be allowed under any circumstances.
