My B/F just got custody of his biological son and his adopted son almost two years ago. We live in Oklahoma and it seems as if the laws were made specifically for women. Since he has had his children he has not gotten any child support even after the court decreed that she pay. After custody was granted to him they were still garnishing his checks for child support. He went to the court house and tried to get it to stop but since the system here is unconnected, it took months before they stopped. The money that was given to her was never returned. They have not garnished her check because they do not know where she works at. They also assumed what her gross income was for the month and calculated a small child support payment on her behalf of $247 for both children. She has not payed a payment yet. He was told by an attorney to contact his social worker to get the amount revised but to his surprise no one knows who his case worker is. Also the system is saying that he owes back child support but he has paid for the kids since she filed plus they charged him for back child support from when both him and the mother were together because she claimed he did not support them. It is getting ridiculous because every time he gets the run around from the system about why he has not gotten his support. Is there anything he can do to make them do their job or can he file a complaint to get his case resolved. The average time frame for support with women in Oklahoma is 3-6 months and they get their money the same month.
