Default Can Two Felons Work Together

Is there any law in NC that prohibits 2 felons from working together? My husband owns his own business and was convicted 2 years ago of a felony drug charge. He has a prospective new employee, but we've heard a rumor that 2 felons can't be together or work together. Is this true? If true, can you give me statute? Thanks!

I suspect that the rumor is based on probation and parole restrictions, which often prohibit a person who is on probation or parole from associating with known felons.
