I received a letter from RJM Acquisitions Funding, LLC stating that they had puchased my account from Chase Manhattan Bank. In the letter it states my Original Credit Account #, Name of Creditor (Chase) and the balance, which is $11,084.41.
My question is, it make no reference in the letter as to when this deliquent account is from...like what year or series of years? I don't have a Chase card, haven't had one for well over 6 to 7 years. Don't think I am deliquent on anything. I live in the state of Georgia.
The letter gives three options for payment. I'm wondering if this is for real...as it states in the letter, "We are you new creditors."
#1 How do I go about checking my credit account for old debts?
#2 I want to verify when this was supposed to have occured. I am given 30 days to dispute this. Should I correspond in writing, only? and if so write and as about WHEN this occured?
#3 The old address here also received this as well as the new address.
Same letter, different address.
Now, this strikes me as unusual, since I was given an opportunity to open an account for a SAM's Credit Card from Chase about a week ago...now I get this.
I would appreciate help with this.

and wondering what's going on with this.
Thanks,
Peggy
