    Default Texas Lease Option

This is a bit of a mess...my mother got a rental house in a divorce, she deeded it to me, the deed has been recorded. Now the X spouse is claiming to still own the property and the current tenant is paying the x spouse the rent. The tenant also claims to have a verbal Lease Option on the property with the x spouse. I have not been able to access the property at all, he calls the police when i try. I think i should be able to just evict this tenant but have been told that this so called vervbal lease option might have some weight. I am not from Texas and dont know anything about Texas law. Not sure what to do next....thanks
