    Default Problems in the workplace

I work in a hospital.(business office) A certain individual has been turned in by myself for more than one violation. First time she asked another person to go into a patient's room and to come back and tell her how sick the patient looked(the patient had cancer)this individual didn't do what was requested and I was basically told to keep my mouth shut(I work in the business office)the next day I reported the incident to my boss. The other employee was just spoken too. This person continually looks up patient information and I have turned her in each time and all that happens is she is spoken too. it does not stop. The straw that broke the camels back was the other day when the employee stated the only people that can get on medicaid are those who have dark skin, plump lips and almond eyes. I was so angry because my husband is not white and we have people of color that work in our department. I again went to my boss and again she spoke to her. I was not content with that. So I told my boss I was going to the director of HR and my boss said okay, I'll go with you. Since that time this employee has called me in the back and told me that we all stabbed her in the back and that she would not be discussing anything anymore etc... I'm sick of this and everyone else is also. I thought she should have been walked out of the hospital along time ago and I feel horrible working with this women. I do have an appointment with the director of HR tomorrow. Please tell me they will fire this women. I don't want to have to work with her anymore.

Um, no one here has any idea whether they will fire her or not. There are no circumstances whatsoever in which the employer is required by law to fire someone. (There are situations where there might be legal problems if they don't fire her and she does the same thing again, but none in which the law requires them to fire her.)

You don't get to decide what discipline they use, and frankly it's none of your business.
