Child Support and Medicaid Fraud

My ex and mother to my daughter was on medicaid. We got pregnant and after the baby was born I still wasn't on medicaid with her. She told me that I had to put down my residence as my sisters address or else she and the baby would lose medicaid benefits and be sanctioned. I listened to her but still lived in the house the entire time. The house is owned by my family so there is no reason to think I lived anywhere else. Now I owe back child support though I lived and took care of the child the entire time. Since she has left she has signed both her daughter and our daughter over to me. I have legal guardianship of her daughter and legal custody of my own daughter. Now my tax return is going to be garnished and she is going to benefit from the fraud even though it hurts the children by her doing so. How do I expose her for the fraud and make sure I get the money rather than her benefiting from it?

Are you sure you want to open that particular can of worms? Remember - you were a part of the fraud. You lied about your residence. Get her charged, and you may find that you're her co-defendant.

yes I know I was still part of it. As for the medicaid it was her responsiblity to report me as living in the same household and since she is the person on the account I have no liability on that. At least that's what I've been told. As for the child support fraud, we are both on that paperwork, but can she still benefit from it when both parties were involved? Should I do it because with child support it's for the kids and the only enforcement is if it is not paid. If I'm wrong please let me know so I know how to proceed.

If you want to turn yourself in for welfare fraud to stop her from profiting from your joint fraud, what's stopping you?
