Default Help With A Reckless Driving Charge

okay first off i just wanted to say that i completely accept responcibility for what i did. i know that it is wrong and completely regret doing it and realize that i took having my lisence for granted. however, i think that what i did did not warrent the consequences that i recieved. Im almost 17 a HIGHLY competitive swimmer and unless i get my lisence back there is NO HOPE of my being able to train at the level that i am currently training at and will loose the scholarships i was hoping to attain through my sport. Im an all AP student as well and this was extremely out of character for me to do.

    what happened was:

it was 11pm and i was comming home from swim practice and work on a friday night and i had track practice at 7 the next morning so i needed to get some sleep in. So i got impatient at a stop light at an intersection when the people did not go at the green light immediately. There were 3 cars in front of me and no one was going to be turning so i pulled into the turning lane to pass them. The speed limit was 40 and i went 55. There was no one comming in either direction aside from the poeple that i passed. I then proceded to pass another car LEGALLY later on going 70 in a 55. The cop pulled me over and charged me with reckless driving. My parents turned in my provisional liscnse the next day to the DMV.

do you think that i should get a lawyer? what do you reccomend that i do in terms of being able to get my lisecnse back asap? do you think i can get it back but simply as a restricted lisense? what do you think ill get charged with?

    please help!!!

It is always a good idea to consult an Attorney when facing criminal charges

If I were you I would consult a lawyer, and very much consider hiring one (unless the lawyer deemed it a lost cause - and even then I would get a second opinion). As you say, the stakes are too great.
