Dismissed Bankruptcy on a Credit Report

Hello all,
My brother has a Chapter13 bankruptcy petition on his reports. The bankruptcy never went through and the status just says "Chapter13 bankruptcy petition" Date filled is 5/2000. Can anything be done about that, since it never went through and was just filed?


He is scared they would start coming after him if he starts trying to repair. I told him I would ask the board for ideas. Thanks

It sounds like the credit report contains accurate information pertaining to your brother's credit. That's what a credit report is supposed to contain. Your brother may be able to attach a short explanation to that entry, if he contacts the credit reporting agency and requests that opportunity.
