Default Received Notice of Intent to Sue from Wolpoff & Abramson - What Happens Next
This letter I received states: "This letter shall inform you that as a result of your failure to resolve this matter, we have made the decision to initiate litigation against you."

I have been reading as much as I can about these types of situations, and I just want to know what I should do next. I have had no contact with anyone at this lawfirm besides receiving a couple of letters from them. My biggest concern is keeping my house. I just purchased the home last january and only have a few hundred dollars of equity thus far, does this affect whether or not they come after my house? Any help you could give me would be extremely helpful. I have a very limited income and the payments on this credit card just got too large to afford. The amount they are trying to recover is $6,959.88. Thanks for your help. I live in Pennsylvania, but I've only lived here for 13 months.

You gave little info on this other than a demand for monies. You don't appear to be contesting this so I will guess you do owe it. the last thing you want is to be sued and everything you own to be taken from you. Find an Attorney and discuss what options you have. Will this creditor accept a payment plan to avoid suit?

Well, I am in the same boat but I have delt with this kind of thing before. Made simple THEY ARE BOTTOM FEEDING DEBT COLLECTORS Now,First thing I do is send them a Cease and Desist letter and hope they bring another lawfirm into it or another collector. You see, the law makes them proove the debt. They can't just create a lawsuit based on the old creditors word. They need to have all the paperwork and follow the law by the letter or they will be tossed out of court on their butts. You need to stand up for yourself and do some research. Check out the statute of limitations on debt in your state. Look for legal briefs handed down against this firm. I found several and they are FULL of info. I can't tell you about them because I don't know if they visit this site and I don't want them having any edge.

Last: Anyone Other than the Original Creditor is a Debt Collector plane and simple. Never, NEVER GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.
