Default Issued summons in Missouri for credit card debt
This morning I was issued a summons for an unpaid credit card. The plantiff is listed as worldwide asset purchasing llc (assign to chase manh bk na) I can't find anything on this collector. The unpaid amount is $1576.13 and does not fall under SOL as my last payment was about 2 years ago (according to my cred report) I think it was before that, but have no proof. What steps do I need to take from here? I have my income tax refund coming in very soon, and will have the money to settle, but I have no way of contacting the collector because I can't find any information on them. I have there lawyers number on my papers, but I don't know if I should contact him. How much would they be allowed to garnish from my paycheck if it gets to that? Any help about a next step would be great. Also my original credit limit for this card was $400. Can someone tell me how that let to the 1573.13 plus 442.02 intrest, and 235.96 attorney fee's that they're sueing for?
Thanks

only the creditor can tell you how they arrived at the balance claimed.

you can also contact the original creditor (chase) and ask for the contact information for who they sold it to.

Well I've got the number for the suing party now and and going to call them. Should I contact them or there attorney? Also, what would be a good number to offer for a settlement that they might accept. Principal balance is 1573.13, 445.02 interest, 235.96 attorney fees. Also if I can't work anything out with them, how would I got about issuing a motion of discovery?
