Can my Credit Card Debt follow me to India?

Hi guys,
I am from India and was studying in USA. I was on my F1 (student) visa and during my college, I accrued quite a bit of credit card debt (about 20k) . I was hoping I would get a woek visa (h1), a good job and pay off my Credit Card Debt.
But my H1b application got rejected and now I am back in India. I am unable to pay off my credit card debt. Indian job does not pay enough to even save to pay minimum balances.
Since I am not going to live in USA anymore, my credit history does not matter. But can they do anything so that I am arrested when I go back to USA?
What are their options now and what are mine?
I will be grateful if anyone can help me with this information.

Would you (or anyone else here) know whatare the options with the credit card company now? Also, if I ever go to USA, would the immigrations and customs stop me or anything?
I am going to try to settle my debt with the credit crd companies for a lesser amount as an when I have money to give them... but I am a little scared... not sure what all they can do.
