Default Washington state pre-trial conference for contested speeding ticket

    Hi,
I talked to the court clerk(king county district court - east division in washington state) over phone and enquired about pre-trial and she said that there is no pre-trial for traffic infractions. Is it true that there is no way that I can get a pre-trial? If there is a way how do I get it? My court date is set to March 15th 2007. Please reply at the earliest so that I can act accordingly if at all I can avail a pre-trial.
Also what should I do to subpoena the ticket issuing officer. I believe I need to mail my request to the court and should I send it to police department too. Please let me know how to go about it

    Thanks,
    Pallavi

A: Ask the clerk for blank, signed subpoenas. Then serve them according to local and state procedural rules.

    Thanks for your quick reply.
Should I post the completed subpoena form to the department of police? The back of court notice says "The right to subpoena witnesses, including the officer who issued the Notice. you must apply to the court in person at least 10 days prior to the hearing for the correct form. It will then be ypur resposibility to have the witnesses served at least 7 days before the hearing" What does this mean? The court clerk said that there is no said format and that I should just write a letter requesting that the ticket issuing officer to be present at the trial. Should I also send a signed blank form obtained from the court and completed to police department?
Can you also tell me if I can avail a pre-trial for traffic infractions in washington state?
