Default Treating Doctor in California
I suffered a serious back injury 2/26/06 and disagreed with the initial treating Doctor's diagnosis. I now have a QME report that is very favorable to me. I need a treating Doctor in Physiatry but the insurance carrier doesn't have one within 100 miles of my home and I cannot travel. How do I get the carrier to agree to allow me to see a Doctor in my local area?. Thank you.

Your insurance company may have a policy allowing acces to an out of network provider, if there is not a network provider within a certain mile radius of your zip code. You would have to call to see what documentation is needed for the request to be considered.
