Question Employer needs help with a claim
I own a tree service in Ohio. I use independent contractors. I have a claim with workers comp due to a contractor cutting his hand 2cm. He only worked 1 day with me. He claims I said I had workers comp and he was an employee. Long story short, he re-injured his cut a week after he had his injury. Shouldn't this case be dropped or voided after he diobeyed Dr.'s orders and did more damage to his injury? Oh..he's had 5 other claims for a rash, a bruised toe, a motorcycle accident that occurred off work, and a cut on his other hand all within 2 years of each other. Anyone can help me out here!

Default Re: Employer needs help with a claim
Do not ignore the claim.

Answer it the best you can (worst choice) or get a lawyer who does work comp (best choice).

No one here can tell you how the board will rule.
