Minor Getting Married Without Parental Consent

i am almost 16 and my boyfriend and i want to get married. the only problem is he is 23 and my parents dont like him. and they wont sign for me to get married. i dont know what to do because i dont exactly have the best home life. and i really want to get married. i cant find any where that we can go to get married and not have to have my parents sign for me. if anyone can help me, please e-mail me.

There is a reason minors need parental permission to marry.

You are still a minor and your parents are responsible for you.

If they don't give you permission, then you wait until you are old enough to get married without it.

are you running away from a family life you dont like? and if so, would getting married be like jumping from the frying pan into the fire? you are young and have a lot of life and self-discoveries to be made...trust me. i partied way to hard in my teens and 20's...thinking i knew everything, falling in and out of love...i learned about myself the hard way, and when i discovered who i was and what i wanted, the person i was also changed. don't make a mistake so young. if you both love each other enough to want to spend your life together, have children, etc...then your love will survive waiting a few years.

and for the record, your guy can be arrested and serve some major jail time, and possibly be listed on the state sex offenders registry which will plague him and his abilities to get a job for the rest of his life.
