Is "outside your door" a parking lot or public area exclusively under the control of your employer? Or is it, for example, a public street or shopping mall parking lot? What distinguishes you from a customer who might have been in the same position, such that your employment contributed to the injury?

You didn't answer most of what I asked, so I can't say much more. If you were required to use an employee entrance as a condition of employment and that door led to a special area which is not part of the general public lot, your case is stronger.

The employee entrance is at the rear of the store which is in the back of a strip mall and I know in SC the police can take you to jail for being behide a strip mall such as the one I was leaving but I have to be in court in just a few hours so if you could respond quite quickly I would be ever so grateful
