I need some help obviously. I was recently issued a summons to appear at court as my ex-wife wanted to take back custody. She didn't have a case against me and I felt she was just trying to take legal action to hurt me. I wasn't going to risk this so I hired a good lawyer to protect me. I attended the mediation orientation... she did not. I attended the preliminary hearing and she decided to be absent that day as well. The case was closed and I win. Yeah for me right?
Well, I'm concerned about the money and time wasted, not to mention my frustration, loss of time at work and college, and my travel time. Also what if she wants to continue this abuse. My lawyer gave me the impression that I cannot take any actions against her. I'm looking for a second oppinion. I've been searching the net looking for credible documentation and information on "unnessecary legal action" if there is any such term in the legal system... particularily Virginia Law. Can someone please help me find some links so I can research this issue if it has been brought up before.
Sorry to be winded but I have quite a few people that are interested in this topic as well and are hoping that I can come up with some answers. So that's why I left out the specifics for now.
Thank you very much for your assistance,
David
