Angry Sears Collection
i have a collection on my credit report from sears from 1997...according to sears i was given a sears card in 1995 for 750 dollars ...i have never recieved this card and sears says they cant show anytype of application or signed reciepts .......they want 545 dollars which isnt a problem for me to pay, but back then i wasnt working as a result of a car accident, had really bad credit issues and NO ONE would have given me credit of any sort...so how do i deal with this ..i refuse to pay for something i know i didnt get and they say they cant provide me with proof because it was so long ago ..besides give me more credit heartaches what can they do?? what can i do ???

Try to get as much info as you can. Like when was account opened what store? The DL# or SS# of credit card holder? It sounds like someone opened an account under your name. You might want to make some calls to Attorneys and even credit reporting bureas to prove its not your charges. This is not something I think you will be able to resolve alone get some help.

An item from 1997 should normally have dropped off of your credit report. When was the last activity on this account? This is in Pennsylvania?
