Talking Re: Emancipation in Ohio
I have a question, i just joined this site today, so sorry if I didn't post my question in the correct box. I'm not really sure how to do anything on here yet.

But, my question is:

I want to join the army. I am 16 years old, and I was told that you may join when you turn 17? My parent's really do not want me to join, but I need a way through college. My family doesn't make alot of money, and so, I think the army would be a good way for me to get myself through college. Do I need their permission to join? Also, how do I go about getting into the army if they won't give me permission? Do I have to go to court? Please help, it will be greatly appriciated.

What did the Army recruiter say when you asked your questions?

You posted this in somebody else's thread about Ohio emancipation, and it's not clear what state you are in. If you are an unemancipated minor, the Army expects parental consent for your joining before the age of 18.
