What in the beJesus is up with Ohio laws. Check this, I just graduated the police academy in December. I have tried out for a number of police agencies and I passed all the tests. Then I receive a letter saying that my background didn't check out. While talking to my parents in Ohio about the situation, my mother tells me that she spoke to a local officer lately and discovered that I had a warrant for my arrest. I was stunned to say the least. I asked my mother what the warrant was for, and she told me that it was about a dog without a tag, and a loose dog thing, dog on prowl or something. I was like WOW, The last time that I lived in Ohio was like eight years ago. So me and my family have been calling around and found out that the warrant was issued in 1999. I did receive a bizzillion tickets for my stupid mutt that I save from the pound, I should have named him houdini because he was always breaking out of his collar. But I thought that I had paid all of those tickets. They also told me that the original fine was one hundred dollars, but it is now one thousand dollars because of incurred interest. At what stinking rate??? How in God's name is this warrant still active??? Doesn't Ohio still have the Statute Of Limitations ??? I looked it up, and the statute of Limitations for a serious felony is twenty years (excluding Murder) Less serious felonies are six years. Most misdemeanors are two years, and minor misdemeanors are six months. So I guess that I committed a major felony??
What in Sam Hill is going on????
