Son is possibly father of unborn child

My son was dating a girl, they have been broken up for some months. He is not sure when the last time they were together was. She is now telling him that she is pregnant with his child. Due within the next 10 days. We do not believe it is his child and want to have a dna test done to prove that it is. If this is indeed his child, he wishes to pursue custody, due to the mom's long history of drug abuse. She admittedly told my son that during the first few months of pregnancy she was doing drug's (exstacy, coke, pot). She was in rehab for a 11 months. Her entire family is either on drugs or in and out of rehab. This is no exaggeration. We live in another state New Mexico, they live in Georgia. Please what can we do to get a paternity test done to prove it is his, and if it is how can we get our sons child and our grandchild out of harms way. Is there any hope. Thank you for any advice you can give.

He would attempt to gain custody by filing a legal action in Georgia. It would be sensible for him to get help from a Georgia custody lawyer.
