Default Reaching a WC settlement after SSDI
I live in NC. I have been on workers comp since 2003. I had an earlier case that put me out of work in 2001. I have had 3 back surgeries. The first allowed me back to work. The second had me in reconditioning for 9 mnths and resulted in a 3rd surgery which was a fusion. I have not been able to return back to work and I am now on SSDI.
I am trying to settle with WC, so I can stop the offset of my SSDI from the WC. I spoke with them the other day, they want to settle with me some rediculous amount of money. Here I am not able to half function and cant work. I walk with a cane and am on Rx meds. I was the bread winner in my family and I am only 39. What they want to settle with is not even 1 yrs wages.

Has anyone else settled at this point in the game?

You can probably get quite a bit of input from other injured workers in this injured workers forum.
