Default Statute of Limitations for Defective Products

If you are a plaintiff and move from a State whose statute of limitations for product liability has passed into a State where the statute of limitations has not passed and the manufacturer of the defective product conducts business, can you file a complaint.

Where the incident happened is the place whose statute of limitations rules.

For argument sake, let's say the personal injury was emphysema from smoking (class action suits and warning labels aside). If you lived in one state your whole life and smoked, then moved to another state and was diagnosed with emphysema from smoking; what state's statute of limitations would you fall under?
