Traffic signal violation

I recently got a citation from montgomery county police maryland. The officer claimed that i drove in a red signal. But my understanding is that i was driving in a yellow light at the intersection, but just before i passed the other end, it turned out red. I was fined $140. Do you think it will be helpful for me if i go for a trial?What is your opinion about going for a waiver? I am concerned about my insurance.

The officer has circled on-fail to stop at steady circular red signal. I can't find the signature of the officer.
