Question Property damage and depreciation in Louisiana

I have rentors in my house who drove their car into my garage accidently, and it damaged the door and door frame going into the house. they put in a claim to their Auto policy and they are in the process of figuring out the amount.. but they are doing a depreciated value for the garage door. And if that amount does not cover the damages they will not pay the difference. they say they will give their notice and get a lawyer.. Who is responisble for the damages?

    Thanks in advance

The damages likely are the depreciated value of the door. And you've noted that their insurance company is going to cover that value.

You don't always get a new replacement item when somebody damages or destroys an older item.
