Default Is signing speeding tickets required in Missouri?

I was pulled over for allegedly speeding earlier today. I told the officer I wasn't going to sign the ticket. He told me to step out of my car, that I was going to jail if I didn't sign. After he threatened me, I signed the ticket and shortly after that, he started yelling at me. I suspect he was trying to get me to yell back at him so he could arrest me.
His manner was abusive and completely out of line and I am considering filing a complaint with the police department about this officer.
First - by law, do you have to sign a speeding ticket in Missouri?
Second - will I cause myself more grief by filing a complaint?

A: Yes; if you do not, then you can be arrested and carried to jail where you will have to post bail.

    A: I do not know.

"Sir, signing this summons is not an admission of guilt".

Don't ask me why I knew that!

A lot of times the citations will specify that signing the citation is not an admission of guilt--it is just a verification that the person received the citation along with their court date. I've seen many cases where people did not sign and the officer would write "Refused" or the like on the ticket to document that fact. In my experience the person usually was not arrested nor received any additional type of charge for not signing--I suppose that if the officer really wanted to he could have added a charge of refusal to obey a lawful command of a law enforcement officer.
