Default Job Discrimination For Being 'Too Polished"

    Hello,

I recentally made it to the final round of interviews at a company that I really want to work for. I did everything right...I dress appropriate for the interview, used manners, wrote thank-you notes, and had all the qualifications needed to get the job.
However, after two weeks of waiting, I was told that I was not hired because I was "too polished" to work in that department and wouldn't be a good fit because of it.
Does this seem fair or legal?

Sorry you didn't get the job you wanted. It wasn't discrimination.
Don't be discouraged, learn from your experience. Good luck.

    Of course it was discrimination.

    But it wasn't illegal.

That's one of the more unusual reasons I've heard, but it is not an illegal reason.
