Insured in deceased's name
My dad past away 4 months ago and my neice recieved his car in the will. She has been driving the car with my dad's name still on the title and on the auto insurance. Is she covered in case she were to get into an accident? Also, would she be covered under his auto insurance if she were to transfer the title and plates into her name?

These are very good questions and you should ask your insurance agent your questions.
Get the answers in writing!

The auto insurance should have been cancelled and the refund placed into the estate.

More likely..NO. She did NOT get permission from the owner of the vehicle to drive the vehicle, and she is a regular operator of the vehicle, which means that she is only covered if she is listed on the policy.Quoting just wondering
Why hasn't the title/registration been transferred over?
