Texas Misdemeanor Expungement

I pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor drug possesion charge in Harris county, Texas. At the time, 7 years ago, I was in the Army and leaving for Europe, thereby eliminating probation nor deffered adjudification as options. I paid a fine, the court used the night I spent in jail as time served, and I left for Europe. I've been clean for the time since and graduated with an engineering degree. The charge and incarceration appear on all background checks, and, consequently, I have lost several job offers.

Is there any way to expunge or seal my records: I was 19 years old and fresh out of basic training when this happened.

If you are in Texas, a person may petition a court for an order of nondisclosure five years after the discharge and dismissal of enumerated misdemeanor offenses and ten years after the discharge and dismissal of felony offenses for which the person was placed on deferred adjudication and successfully completed the required community supervision [Tex.
