Default Do Items Automatically Drop Off Your Record After 7 years?

I live in Texas, and posted on here the other day about a Class B Misdemeanor I recieved back in August 2000 for.... $50 Theft......My criminal record says Disposition (Convicted) and then Disposition (Probation and Discharge)....Fine ( $250) I have been told that I can not get my record sealed or expunged by one person on here....

I was talking with a person at a Temp Service about some jobs I applied for a few days ago, and she told me because of my record they could not place me, but that Automatically after 7 years these items drop off your criminal record on their own.... Is this true? because August 31, 2007 will be 7 years for this item on my record.

If anyone knows about this please let me know... Thanks Alot.

In terms of a criminal record, it's not true. They may be referring to the policies of the background check service they use.

As far as criminal records go, this is absolutely untrue. It remains on your record forever unless you qualify for and receive an order of nondisclosure or expunction (but this isn't available for actual convictions - only deferred adjudications, dismissals, and acquittals.)
