I live in California and I was i an accident with another vehicle. the accident was the other parties fault and i was not cited for not having insurance at the scene. The other persons insurance company contacted me and said i need to submit a claim to my insurance to comply with prop 213 which states: an uninsured driver may not sue for non-economical monitary compinsation. I called my insurance company and they said that my policy had been cancelled for non-payment. i had no idea i had no insurance. i was wondering.
One: Can i get money for my vehicle which was totalled.
Two: Can i incure any legal ramifications for driving without insurance.
