Ticket for getting out of turn lane

I received a ticket today for getting out of a turn lane. Traffic was jamming and no one was letting me out. Finally I got out and the next thing I know A cop pulls me over. I want explain my side before a judge. My driving record is clean however I did have a deferment 13 months ago for not wearing a seat belt and being 5 or tens miles above the speed limit. Do I stand a ghost of a chance?

could you explain here a bit? I am curious as to why you were "getting out of a turn lane"

One would think that by completing the intended turn, which is why you would have gotten into the turn lane to begin with would be perfectly acceptable.


Unless you are one of those folks that pull out onto a road without a clear path to do so and either drive down the turn lane or simply set in it until there is an opening for you to pull into the origianlly intended path of traffic flow.

We were rushing shipping packin and shopping and after a second or two I relaized I didn't want be in the turn lane. I then entered back into the main flow of traffic with out problem or incident that is till I got pulled over. Ahh the Christamas rush!!

I find this one curious. If you did what I think you did, I wouldn't think it would be a violation.
