Whether or not this kind of injury can be submitted as a workers comp claim is dependent on state law. (It is illegal in all 50 states to fire someone BECAUSE they filed a workers comp claim.)

Is there someone in HR you can discuss it with?

Thanks for your response, I filled out the accident report about aweek later. They ask how I was and I told that my shoulder hurt that I could only lift my arm so much that there was pain. they said I could go to the hospital to have it check out. told them that I thought it would get better and not have to put them through the expense. Since then I have received my pay check and for the 2 days that I was out I was docked for it, didn't grt paid. I did not think I should have. so yesterday I mention it to te people in HR that I felt that I should have been paid. I would not have miss if they had taken action and did something about the ice. It had been there for 2 days. Ididn't say that to them but that is what I think. so I am to meet with the head of personel tomorrow. Do you have any advise on what to say and not say?

thak you

Sorry, I didn't see your post until just now.

Whether or not you legally should be paid for those days is ALSO a matter of state law.

Thumbs down Re: Slip on ice at work
I predict they will be extraordinarily sorry that they hired you....and that you will be glad that they did. You slipped on ice??? Didn't you know about ice?? I feel badly that you were hurt (many people have had accidents, including me) but I suspect you're getting ready to make the most of it as you seem to have no interest in accepting your responsibility as a normal human being living in a normal, but not always 'friendly' world. Shame on you!
