Unhappy First violation of probation
my husband was on probation for taking a burglary charge in florida for his brother-in-law because his sister was having a baby! anyways he took the charge and they put him on probation! well he has only been on probation for 4 months, part of his probation was that he had to write an apology letter, well he forgot to write it and on thanksgiving they came and arrested him! what will happen? how long is he going to be in there??? what can i do?

Ok I'll bite what moron came up with idea you should accept penalty for a criem he didnt commit? Normally a probation violation ends up with the person violating probatin serving out sentence that was orignally part of crime. If there was no sentence (just probation) its possible he could spend 30 or more days in jail for violation

That's not being a man. It's being really, incredibly stupid. Being a man means taking responsibility for your own actions, not somebody else's.

He may get more probation, but it's nobody's fault but his own that he violated probation only four months into his sentence. As you say, he's a man, so he won't have any problem taking responsibility for that failure, whatever the consequence. Right?

i never said it was the smartest decision! he realizes now he shouldn't have done it! but when he did it he meant it with the best for his sister! he doesnt always think! what the chance that they'll give him more probation or everyone else has been telling me 30 days whats the likely hood thats what theyll give him?

Notices of court dates usually indicate the purpose of the scheduled court proceeding.
