Beats me. You guys are the experts. I just recall every couple of months, Compliance would pass out a stack of papers titled FDCPA, saying, "Read this, the updates have been highlighted, familiarize yourselves with the changes." I haven't been employed by a collection agency or collections lawfirm for nearly 10 years.
Like I said, you guys are the experts on the actual law. my advice was for eco to gather some knowledge on what's allowed and what isn't, highlighting that nine times out of ten, collectors are going to try and cross the line in order to get a payment. If you make it known that you know the rules they're supposed to be playing by, you'll have a smoother conversation and more desirable results. Hope that helps eco -=)
Experts, wouldn't it be more satisfying to nit pic someone's response who actually claims to have full knowledge rather than someone who clearly states that the info is based on years ago AND may have been company policy rather than collection law? The FDCPA wasn't my point anyway. Poor collection agent practices was my point. smh
