Question When is paternity testing required
Hello everyone,

Hopefully I can get some good advice here, and thanks in advance to any responses I get. Basically my situation is like this. A friend that I was seeing recently informed me that her daughter born last month could possibly be mine because she concieved during the last month we had been seeing each other(Dec 05). During that time I knew she was seeing other people, and that was fine, so I took the neccessary precautions (i.e. wearing condoms) anytime we were together. When she first told me she was pregnant she told me I had nothing to worry about because she was pretty sure it was this other guys kid. Now though she claims she is not sure because she thinks the baby looks more like me than him. She is asking for me to take a paternity test to prove one way or the other. I KNOW 100% that this child is not mine, so I havent agreed to the testing. Can she legally make me take one?? THanks alot.

If she files a lawsuit against you for child support, then you can be ordered to take a test.

If you don't want to take a test, then you can pay child support.

The reasoning is that you were having sex at the time the child was conceived so you are a possible father.
