Car Registration problem - insurance complication

I have a valid title and registration for Illinois and am currently insured on my parents Illinois insurance policy. I live and work in Arizona, but am a part-time graduate student at the University of Southern California (they offer a distance education program in agreement with my current employer; I am considered as no different that a regular on-campus student, etc.). I currently have an Arizona drivers license because the Illinois one was going to expire and I didn’t want to fly back just to renew it.

Do I have to title and register my vehicle in Arizona? Or do I qualify as an "out-of-state student" per the Arizona Revised Statutes?

You're no longer a student. I apologize. I just re-read your post. Generally, the "right" (given by most insurance companies) to be on your parent's policy ends after you complete undergrad courses. Its not worth it to try to stay on their policy. You do NOT want to have an accident in AZ, and have an IL policy. Its not worth it.

Just trying to assess all my options. Maybe I need to suck it up, accept the enourmous insurance rates, or stop driving for awhile until my rates go down. Neither is a fun option, just a matter of weighing the costs involved. I mean for $3000+/6 months, I could probably hire a driver to get to and from work.

Come on now. Either you are doing homework or you are simply lieing. In your other post you claim you have already transfered the title and reg to Arizona. Which is it?

well then you ask of possibilities and present possibilities if you want an honest opinion of them. You do not intentionally decieve those here that are willing to assist those that ask.
