Suspended License After Forgetting About a Ticket

Figured I'd throw this in this thread, as I also need help with this. Back in february of 05 I got a ticket for an improper turn. I went to court and was told a certain amount i needed to pay. Around this time I switched jobs 3 times and completely forgot about the ticket.

Never received a notice of suspension for my license or anything. Then this last sunday, I got pulled over for failing to stop at a stop sign and was subsequently arrested. Also on the ticket is failure to surrender suspended license, which I have no clue what that was about, as the officer took my license? My court date is Nov 20th.

I guess what I'm looking for/needing to know is what to do in general? I have a completely clean driving record other than these couple things I've listed. Do I need to hire a lawyer? Because as far as 2 of the tickets go I can't dispute them. Any advice you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated!

It's probably going to be helpful to you if you at least consult a local lawyer who handles traffic court matters and traffic misdemeanors. You should also get that old charge resolved, take care of any fines and reinstatement fees, etc., as prosecutors tend to give much better plea offers to people who have resolved the basis for the old suspension. You (or your lawyer) should try to find out if notice of the suspension was in fact sent to you, and why you might not have received it.
