Default Battery-touch or strike-Florida
My fiance has a First Degree Misdemeanor that is a battery touch or strike. He was not able to complete his anger management class and wrote a letter to the judge requesting an extension, there was no response so it was then forwarded to the asst. state attorney. An alert was then issued less then 1 month later. It was a "pick up and commit" issued for 30 days. This Misdemeanor Pick-Up Commitment was issued on 03/06/2003 which is a few years ago and my fiance has taken no further action with the case. I would just like to know what a Pick-Up commitment is?? Is it a warrant for his arrest? How long will this be on his record if he takes no action, and what should he do to clear this up? I know the idea would be to serve the time but is there any other way?? Thank you so much for taking time to help me!

From what you have written, it's a warrant for his arrest for violating his probation. He can contact the court about turning himself in on the warrant, or get help from a criminal defense lawyer.
