    Angry California traffic code 12141

Its one of four violations according to the automated system from the Oakland, Ca. court house. I tried to look it up, being as I was under the impression I only had two violations (speeding, proof of insurance). Well it turns out the third violation is 40508a (failure to appear/pay fines) so that didn't come as a total shock to me but, this fourth mystery violation has me baffled. I don't know what it could be and I can't find the code ANYWHERE.

    Anybody have any clue?

What are all four of the codes?

And there IS no CVC 12141. Someone either entered it incorrectly, or it is not a vehicle code section.

    22350 (speeding)

    16028a (no proof of insurance)

40508a (violation of promise to appear)

    12141 (mystery code)

This is all stemming from a ticket I have left sitting since July of '04. Now that I actually need my license back (it was suspended for my lack of action), I want to clear this thing up. The mystery violation however, is making me slightly nervous about just going into the walk-in court. I'd rather be prepared to defend myself against anything then be caught by surprise.

Just to clear it up: It was suspended for your failure to appear.

I checked 12141 in the Penal Code, Revenue Code, Health & Safety Code, and Welfare and Institutions Code and came up with zip. It would appear to be a misprint. Or, the citation is so very old that if there was once a section 12141 it no longer exists!

CVC does not have a code 12141. ( I can always reach underneath my drivers seat, to find the CVC book, a deal at $5 )

The Code 12141 is a Civil Assessment code for assessing a Civil assessment fee, basically how the courts keep running after propostion 13.

There is a law that gives the court the power to acess these fees, but not how to administer or delinate them.
