    Default Not Stolen

A friend and I were held at gunpoint and taser point by two officer because someone pointed at her car and said it was stolen. When it turned out to be false, the cops pull me off the ground and said "sorry. have a nice day."

What is the procedure for checking for a stolen car. Was his actions at all justified?

    Default Detained by Officer

The officer can detain you for a reasonable amount of time to investigate the report of a crime in which you are a suspect - which, from your description, appears to be what happened. Whether or not the officer acted reasonably under the circumstances has to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, based upon the full facts and circumstaces, which at this point in time I do not know.
