Angry You Are Not The Father
Hello Everyone,
I reside in the state of Maryland moved from the state of Texas. Four years ago I was told by a women that I was the father of her son. Like a fool I began to pay child support (voluntarily) for the boy. I had no real reason not to believe this woman (until later) so I went ahead and paid regularly. I will admit that I was probably proud to be a father of a son like most men would be but the distance eventually began to make me wonder. When I pressed for more information such as blood types and other medical information it was slow coming or never came at all. Finally a year ago I went to visit some relatives in Texas and stopped by to visit my alleged son. When I had time away from the mother I swabbed the boy's cheek for eventual private DNA testing. Upon my return to Maryland I sent in the tests and waited for the results. This past February the results were negative, 0% possibility of Paternity. I sent the women the results along with all the baby pictures etc. She still swore up and down that this was my son and that she was going to now sue me for support. To make a Long story short she made good on her promise and I had to do a "Legal" DNA test presented by the AGO from the state of Texas. The results where negative once again. My question is, is there any recourse that I can take in order to recover money paid to this women? I did not sign any birth certificate nor does this baby have my last name. I'm thinking that this may be a lost cause and a lesson learned.

Thanks,

Pabblo

You're thinking correctly. You paid voluntarily without checking, first. The money is gone.
