Default Rights of a Potential Father
I'm having a bit of a problem. I already know I am wrong morally, and am just looking for any type of legal advice that you can help me with.....

Here's my scenario...

I engaged in sexual activity with a woman July 6th of this year while she was on a break from her boyfriend. It was protected and she was on the patch also. It has recently been brought to my attention that she is pregnant. She has not told me herself, but rather I heard it through the grapevine. In fact I haven't heard from her since that night.

She claims to only be 7 weeks pegnant which would put me out of that fatherhood possibilty, but from what I have heard, she is "showing" a little more then she should.

Currently she is back with her boyfriend and from what I understand she is saying that it is his. But.... what if it is not?

If it happened to be mine, I would not want to her to have it. She has already had three abortions, and I would not want her to have a baby that I wouldnt want to have any involvement in.

Do I have any rights?? Can she just come up to me one day after having a baby and tell me that it's mine while the whole time she was pregnant she never let me know.....

Please like I said, I already know the moral issues, I'm just looking for legal advice

It's not your choice to make.

You can initiate a paternity action to secure DNA testing to resolve the issue of parentage and, if determined to be the father, can seek custody or visitation rights.
