Default Assault in high school
My gf was jumped from behind at school while getting books out of her locker. she was knocked down and the girl then started to repeatedly slam my gf's head on the floor. Teachers broke up the fight and my gf ran to the office. The school called her mom and told her that she needed to call an ambulance. My gf's mom drove to school called the police. They waited for the police to arrive and then got a police report. They then rushed her to the hospital. She has minor cuts and bruises on her temple and back of head.

Then the police officer dropped off the case because he was on the school board. THe school never called an ambulance or the police. Its been at least a week and the police haven't conducted any evindence.

A week later my gf's sister was walking down the street after school and the same girl who beat my gf was chasing her sister. she got away. but how can some one so threating be able to walk around the streets.

The police do not conduct evidence, they conduct an investigation seeking to obtain evidence.

However, since you are the boyfriend of the victim I can only presume that you are also a high school student and are thus not privy to WHAT the police may or may not have done or be doing. You also cannot know whether they called the police or an ambulance, and why they might not have ... unless they told you. If a parent is responding to take a child to the doctor, they probably wouldn't call an ambulance. And the police might respond to the hospital as opposed to the school if that is where the victim is going to be.

You say the police weren't called yet you ALSO say the family got a police report but the original officer apparently had to drop the matter over a conflict of interest. This implies that a report was taken.

If there has been no follow-up done, then that is a matter for the family of the victim to address with the police. There could be a number of reasons why there appears to be nothing done ... it could be that the fight was seen as mutual or the suspect alleges self defense, it could be that the victim has not cooperated, it could be that the police are still trying to get evidence before they send it to a prosecutor, etc.

Your girlfriend's parents can speak to the police and ask about the status of the investigation. The police do not have to tell them anything, but they are far more inclined to speak to the parents than another kid.

Because there is no order preventing her from being on the street. The girlfriend's parents can seek a restraining order against the assailant to help protect the family should they wish it. However, this might not be possible in all states, and since you did not list your state we can only speculate.
