Default Sperm Donor & Birth Certificate
Was just wondering if anyone knows... if a single woman conceives a child as a result of artificial insemination - does the child's birth certificate name a father??? Even if the donor's identity is "known" by the clinic - would that donor's name be on the child's birth certificate?

Laws can vary by state. Did you have a particular state in mind?

Florida's statutes provide,
Quoting Florida Statutes, Domestic Relations § 742.14 - Donation of eggs, sperm, or preembryos.
The donor of any egg, sperm, or preembryo, other than the commissioning couple or a father who has executed a preplanned adoption agreement under § 63.212, shall relinquish all maternal or paternal rights and obligations with respect to the donation or the resulting children. Only reasonable compensation directly related to the donation of eggs, sperm, and preembryos shall be permitted.
That makes it appear that, assuming the law is followed, the father's name may be left blank. The clinic should be able to clarify your rights.
