I went to court for shoplifting about a month ago, but the judge withheld adjudication. i'm going for a job interview on friday, if they run my background check will this conviction appear on my record?

If adjudication was withheld, there shouldn't be a conviction on your record.

If you want a more specific answer, identify your state.

You can obtain your Florida criminal history, as described here, and see what the state reports. If adjudication is withheld the entry shouldn't reflect a conviction, but it may well reflect the charge and the fact that adjudication has been withheld.
