I am in a 2 year lease agreement.We are canceling the lease 8 months early. My husband transferred his job and in the lease it says that in employment changes the lease can and will be terminated with 60 days written notice. We have done that. they told me they would honor the terms of the lease. My concern is that I am leaving Oct 31 and my landlord says they have not received our rent for October and are in violation of the lease. I know I paid the rent on time. NO, the check has not cashed to date. They requested another check,which I gave them. It still has not cashed. My landlord also keeps saying that we were given the wrong lease when we signed it. I am very concerned that they will try to force me to pay the rest of the lease. Even if we were given the wrong lease isn't it still binding? I feel like the leasing compnay is playing games with me and am worried what will happen. They also said that the owners of the house want the full months rent for November but inagreements of my written notice 60 days would fall on the 14th of Nov. am i liable for the full months rent? and can the owner of the house demand that when my contract is with the leasing company not the owners?The lease manager also says he will not do a final walkthrough with me. That he is not avail that day and will do it himself. I do not trust this,but am moving out of state. How do I protect myself,if we do not do the final together? I could really use some advice.
