Question Custody rights when not married, in Florida
I was wondering what rights a father has if not married when baby is born but signs acknowlegement of paternity for birth cert, he wants the baby to have his last name & be listed as father. The mother does not want to get married yet but if all of a sudden she decides he can't see the baby does he have any rights?

Default Re: Custody rights when not married, in Florida
The acknowledgement of paternity will establish his paternity for purposes of a legal action. He ma petition a local court to grant him visitation (or, if appropriate, custody), and the mother may request child support.
